Attendance Policy
Students may arrive at 7:35 a.m., doors will be unlocked at 7:35 daily for students to enter the building. Students should be in their classrooms by 7:55 to be counted for morning attendance.
School attendance is an important element to school success. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school- and themselves. Start building this habit so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college and at work.
- Students can fall behind if they miss just a day or two every few weeks.
- Being late to school may lead to poor attendance.
- Absences can effect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.
Tardies
Any student arriving after 7:55 will need to enter the front doors by the office to receive a tardy pass. If a student receives three tardies in a quarter they will be expected to attend tardy academy after school.
Absences
3 Unexcused Absences - Families will receive a phone call and an emailed letter to outline the attendance policy and offer support.
5 Unexcused Absences - Families will receive a phone call and a physically mailed letter outlining policy again.
7 Unexcused Absence - Families will receive a letter from the County Attorney about potential legal consequences of poor attendance.
10 Unexcused Absence - Families will be required to participate in a County Attendance Mediation.
