Math Club will take place once a month during the lunch hour. Students are responsible for bringing a peanut and tree nut-free lunch to the LRC. The club plans to meet on the first Tuesday of almost every month during the lunch hour (11:40 to 12:40). The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3. If you are interested in signing up your child please do so by Sunday, October 1. Spots are currently limited based on the number of parent volunteers available to help.

From our Music Department
Kindergarten will focus on forte (loud) and piano (quiet) music as we sing spooky songs with surprise endings as well as playing glockenspiel!
1st Grade just finished composing our own rhymes in Down By the Bay with collaboration from the first grade team! We will be using nonpitched percussion instruments to create sound effects to our songs and use xylophone to create a special Halloween bordun!
2nd Grade learn about first and second endings in music, as well as coda...the tail of a song! In addition, students will sing solos!
3rd Graders will be singing in harmony through a round while also accompanying themselves on xylophone with a crossover bordun...a very tricky concept! They will also explore some dynamic contrast in another Halloween song!
4th Grade students are delving deep in ways to create harmony. Using xylophone and metallophone they will play along with a Halloween Blues song and will sing a partner song to show they can sing in 2-part harmony.
5th graders explore different kinds of dances in a fun Halloween cumulative song! This song is a waltz in a meter of 3, continuing our exploration of different time signatures and what they mean. They can tell you how much math there is in music!
