Pre-K Information
CARES
Ms. Courtney and Ms. Hannah- This week we will begin reading stories about animals hibernating. We will focus on bears. We’re also looking forward to finding out if Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow on Groundhog’s Day! We will review letter names and sounds and work on more literacy concepts. We will continue to work on pre-kindergarten math skills.
Integrated Pre-K
Ms. Aileen and Ms. Kerry- With Groundhog Day approaching, our preschoolers will be learning about shadows and the letter sound ‘sh’. You can help by exploring and making observations with your children! Search for shadows in your environment, use the sun to make a shadow of your body, make the shadow move, or use a flashlight and objects to block light creating a shadow.

Grade 8 Matter of Heart Program
January 8, 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Quincy Public Schools is very fortunate to have over one hundred dedicated community business partners. One of those valuable partners is Brewster Ambulance Service. Along with our Health teacher and school nurse, Brewster will be sponsoring a very special wellness initiative. During the months of January and February, your eighth grade student will be learning more about heart health in their Health classes. The curriculum and supplemental materials will be in preparation for an opportunity to learn about Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) directly from licensed Brewster Ambulance Service staff. All of the curriculum materials and resources will be available for you to view on the Quincy Public Schools website (www.quincypublicschools.com).
All of our Grade 8 students will participate in a hands-on introduction to CPR that will be covered in a 45-minute class session on Thursday, February 1st.
In addition, Brewster Ambulance Service is offering the opportunity for Grade 8 students and their parents/guardians to participate in a no-cost full CPR/AED certification class on Saturday, February 3rd from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (snow date Saturday, February 10th) in the Central Middle School gymnasium. Information on registration will be sent home later this month and transportation for you and your student will be provided to and from Point Webster Middle School. Please join us and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity!
Sincerely,
Christine Barrett

Greetings! We are excited to have your student participate in Point Webster’s Badminton Program. Due to the large number of students enrolled we have set up a tournament bracket system so that all students are able to participate.
Students have selected a partner and will be playing every other Friday. Please kindly remind your student to check the bulletin board located in the recess hallway to determine if they will be playing on Friday. If your student is not able to attend on Friday, please remind them to let me know by Thursday.
