Families are invited to come to the middle school on May 18, 19, 20, or 21st to gather student belongings and clear out student lockers. This will also be the opportunity for students to return school property. Bringing students and parents into the building will require us to take certain precautions in order to abide by the governor’s orders and recommendations. Please review the schedule and procedures below. Should you need any special accommodations, please reach out via email at ndiscenza@bereaschools.org.

- Completely empty your locker contents. Bring a bag or box to help you transport the contents of your locker.
- Take your lock with you for use for next year.
- Teachers will be in the week before to gather any items for students that may be located in classrooms. Teachers will bag or box these items, label them with the student’s name, and place them in the hallway near your child’s locker. Please look for any bags/boxes with your child’s name.
- Trash cans will be located in hallways to discard unneeded items.
- Library books: A large bin will be located at each entrance for library books.
- Borrowed Instruments: Only need returned if your child is not continuing with band or orchestra next year. Otherwise, they can keep the instrument. Large bins will be located at each entry door for collection.
- Borrowed books from class libraries: Teachers will have labeled boxes outside their door to return these items.
- Textbooks: Hardcover textbooks will be collected. Bins will be located at each entrance for the collection of all hardcover textbooks.
- Yearbooks will be distributed at this time as well. A station will be set up inside the main office doors on the 6th through 8th grade side of the building. We ask that anyone picking up yearbooks should drive to the main office entrance, park along the building and enter those doors. We understand this may take extra time for you and your family, but it will help us control the number of individuals in the building.
- Anyone entering the building must wear a mask.
- Only two family members are permitted to enter the building (student and one parent).
- Only 10 students will be permitted in the grade level hallway at a time. We ask that you limit your time in the building to 5 minutes to accommodate all who need to gather belongings.
- Abide by social distancing guidelines and remain 6 feet from others.
- Limit time in the building and be efficient. We will be trying to move a lot of families through the building in the safest manner possible.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us clear the building and return personal items to their owners. See the schedule below for time options by last name.
