Warrior Students and Parents,

Our Senior Movie Night scheduled was cancelled due to inclement weather. If it is rescheduled, we will share details at that time. We have many other important announcements that can be found below. We hope to see many students "get involved" and "make memories" by participating in our last Spirit Week of the school year.

Prom

Prom and All Night Party ticket sales have ended. If any graduating senior needed to purchase a ticket but missed the deadline, please contact Mr. C. ASAP.

Spirit Week - In honor of the Class of 2023’s last full week at WHS

Monday, May 22 - Wear Green in honor of Mental Health Awareness


Tuesday, May 23 - Senior Walk - Seniors dress up and bring caps/gowns while underclassmen wear purple/white


Wednesday, May 24 - Class Shirt Color Day -

> Seniors - Pink

> Juniors - Lavender/Purple

> Sophomores - Blue


Thursday, May 25 - Western Day - “Round up Seniors to Leave” - Wear western apparel (participants entered into drawing for prize)


Friday, May 26 - Warrior Club/Team Day - Wear apparel from your favorite WHS Club or Team

Senior Walk:

Tuesday, May 23 - Seniors will wear their caps and gowns as they walk the halls of their former schools while students and staff at those schools wave and cheer them on.


We will begin with a walk at WHS at 9:00 AM and then load buses that will take the students to PHMS (arrive 9:30 AM), BMS (arrive 10:00 AM) and then their former elementary school (arrive 10:25 AM) before returning to WHS by 11:00 AM.


Parents are welcome to join the students at any of the schools to take pictures.

Memorial Day Weekend

Students have a half day of school Friday, May 26 (10:45 AM dismissal) and NO SCHOOL Monday, May 29.

Class of 2023 All Night Party:

Monday, June 12 - 10:00 PM – 3:00 AM at WHS - All graduating seniors are invited and encouraged to attend (students must meet the requirements to walk at the graduation ceremony in order to be eligible to purchase a ticket). Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased during lunch May 15-19. Food, games, comedian, hypnotist, free ANP t-shirt and more included with ticket purchase.

Support your graduate and the class of 2024

Families can pre-order flowers, graduation teddy bears, and WHS graduate t-shirts prior to the graduation ceremony. Orders placed in advance will be available for pick up on the day of graduation. Proceeds from this event will help support the class of 2024 prom.

WHS is participating in Mental Health Awareness Month

Throughout the month of May, we will create small activities or announcements each day to support our students and staff, as well as remind them about the importance of taking care of yourself both physically and mentally. See the calendar below for our plan for each day.

Summer School

Summer school registration packets are available in the WHS Counseling Office and online.

Spring Break Trip 2024

The deadline has been extended until June 14, 2023 to sign up for the WHS Rome/Athens trip happening over Spring Break 2024. Interested students/parents should email Mrs. Williams for more information.

Host an Exchange Student

International Cultural Exchange Services is looking for families to host exchange students for the 2023-24 school year. We have students from all over the world with varied interests including all sports, art, theater, animals, music, dance, computers and many more who would love to live with your family and attend Woodhaven High School next school year. If you would like to learn how hosting a cultural exchange student can be an amazing experience for your family and community, contact Stacie Blackledge, Local Coordinator. You can also find out more about our non-profit organization at icesusa.org.

After School Tutoring

After school, free tutoring is still being provided Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 PM. Help is provided for math, English, science, and social studies.

WHS Blessing Box

WHS has a Blessing Box that has food and toiletry items for anyone who may need them. The Blessing Box is located on the west side of WHS near the WHS Counseling Office entrance. Students, parents and community members are welcome to take items that they may need.
