The Quill
August 18, 2017
Message from Mr. Nieslanik
August is always an exciting time of year. Cheer, color guard, cross country, football, marching band, soccer and volleyball are in full swing, and the building is beginning to come to life as staff slowly trickle back into their classrooms. To be honest, the building truly feels whole when all our student return.
Next week we will be a bit more whole, as we have Preview Days. For some of you this will be your first time to walk the halls of Southridge High, and for others you are returning to a school you call home. To both new and returning students, I welcome you with open arms. Welcome to your school, your learning community, your future. We are an inclusive, thoughtful, caring, diverse and engaged community. I know that we will create opportunities together, embrace students and their ideas, inspire all to be the best they can be, and empower students to be innovators, have a voice, and to leave in June 2018 better than they entered in August 2017.
Together, we are Southridge Skyhawks!
Until next time,
David
PS: If you are a graphic designer, or you know a graphic designer in our Southridge community, who would be interested in helping me on a project, please contact me at David_nieslanik@beaverton.k12.or.us. Thank you in advance!
