Greetings to all of our St. Martin’s Families!
In these unprecedented times, many of you are facing challenges that you never thought you would have to deal with. Please know that each and every one of you are doing amazing work daily, supporting your children while navigating through so many unknowns. The staff at St. Martin deeply appreciate everything you are doing to support your family at this time. We all react to stress differently. There are no right or wrong reactions so please be patient with others and gentle to yourselves. If you need support, remember that you are not alone. Nothing beats face to face contact with our friends and loved ones but we still need to stay connected. And always remember, you are enough!
Please reach out for information or support to our family wellness worker, Mrs. Kathy Bohaychuk 780-208-7500 or email: kathleen.bohaychuk@eics.ab.ca
School Improvement Planning for Next School Year
Every year in January EICS schools survey our staff, students and parents to get feedback on school improvement. That data has been gathered and the specifics shared on our school website. Our staff analyze the data and pull out the areas of success and the areas for improvement. Four areas of improvement were identified (see below) as most significant and now we are looking for feedback from parents and students on how we can improve in these areas for next school year. We are looking for parents to provide any thoughts/ideas you may have on how we could improve in these areas. Please click the link below to provide ideas on how we can improve in these areas. Staff will then use this anonymous feedback to begin planning for school improvement for next school year.
Areas for St. Martin’s School Improvement:
(1) Improve math/literacy interventions for students so they can do better in all classes
(2) Improve supports for students with diverse needs
(3) Improve satisfaction with School improvement
(4) Increase parent involvement in school activities and decision making so they are more involved and aware

Global News Colour a HERO
Let’s say thank you to our heroes. There are so many people working hard to keep us all safe and healthy while everyone does their part to stay at home. Have your child draw a picture and include a special message to someone they think is a hero. Start with a blank canvas or colour one of our heroes for the Colour a HERO Colouring Book below
- Find an 8.5- by 11-inch letter-size paper.
- Avoid paper with holes or lines.
- Make the artwork pop by colouring every inch of the paper
- Take a picture of your artwork.
- Before submitting, make sure the photo is in focus and taken straight on with no glare and no shadows in the photo.
- Colour a HERO – Colouring Book
Submitting your child’s artwork: Email your child’s masterpiece to colour@globalnews.ca Don’t forget to include your child’s NAME and AGE in the name of your file so we can give credit (example: ColourAHero-John-Age6.JPEG), or write your first name only and age in the top left corner of the picture.
You can also send a copy of the picture to JoeK@eics.ab.ca and we will put the picture into an upcoming SMORE newsletter.
