TOMORROW!! FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6 - ANNUAL WALK, BIKE OR ROLL TO SCHOOL
Students are encouraged to participate with a family member and walk, bike or roll to school from home, a neighbor's home, or join Jordan/Jackson students and administrators at one of two central locations to come to school as a group. School administrators will be leading the way along with Resource Officers Wright and McCune and Bentley.
Plan to meet at 7:30am at the following central meeting places:
1. The Municipal parking lot on North Main Street (next to Bluestone Bank).
2. The Public Safety Complex at the corner of East Street and Route 106.
Immediately following the walk, families can stop by the East entrance for some coffee and to chat with administrators after this fun, annual event.
DONATIONS BEING COLLECTED FOR FAMILIES
The Mansfield High School Student Service Club along with Mansfield community members are accepting donations to be collected to benefit migrant newcomer families. Boxes for the collection are located at Jordan/Jackson, Robinson, Qualters and the high school. If you would like to donate, please click HERE for suggested donations.
ANNUAL HEALTH SCREENINGS
Notification of Vision, Hearing, & BMI Screening
In accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, vision and hearing screenings will be performed on all Jordan/Jackson students. In addition, all 4th grade students will have their height and weight recorded. Schedule for screenings:
5th grade screenings are planned for 10/10 and 11/14.
4th grade screenings are planned for 11/20 and 11/27.
3rd grade screenings are planned for 10/25 and 11/14.

Digital Citizenship
Students in Grade 3 through Grade 5 will be receiving two sessions of Digital Citizenship. The first session will take place the week of October 10 and the second session will take place the week of December 4th. During these short, age appropriate lessons, students will learn the importance of being a responsible digital citizen and making smart choices online, in school, and in their community. Subjects include topics such as “Privacy and Security”, “Cyberbullying” and “Media Balance”. Lessons have been created using resources from Common Sense Education, a digital citizenship curriculum.
Grade 3: The Power Of Words: A lesson on how to react when someone uses mean or hurtful language on the internet.
Grade 4: Private & Personal Information: A lesson on what information about you is okay to share online.
Grade 5: Finding My Media Balance: A lesson on using media in a way that feels healthy and in balance with other life activities.

CHAMPS MUSIC LESSONS
It's that time of year again! Registration for music lessons at the Jordan/Jackson School is now open. Band, Orchestra and Keyboard are offered and supported by the CHAMPS program. Lessons will start in mid October and continue until the end of the year.
Registration forms are due as soon as possible! Enrollment is not guaranteed and determined by a first-come first-served basis. See the registration forms below. If you would like to speak to one of the instructors in person they will be available during the Jordan/Jackson Curriculum Night on September 28th in the cafeteria.

Mansfield Elementary School Association (MESA) is the non-profit parent organization of the Robinson and Jordan/Jackson elementary schools.
