Positive Raiders: Responsible, Respectful, Hard Working and Kind
Mr. Corso’s Principal’s Message
We believe in positive messages at BMMS. I read the following to our school on Friday (any family support is greatly appreciated!)… Good morning Black Mountain Middle School. This is Mr. Corso, your principal. As you know, we have four core values: respect, responsibility, hard work and kindness. We have noticed some students could improve in the responsibility department. Here are some ways you can be responsible at Black Mountain:
Be on time to all your classes
Take care of your school, including keeping the bathrooms clean and picking up your trash
Don’t spread rumors or gossip
And finally If you have a problem with someone, the solution is not a physical confrontation. Walk away, find an adult.
We want all to feel welcome and safe at school. We all can be better. And all means all. Do your part to make Black Mountain the best school it can be. Thanks for listening and have a wonderful Friday.

Currently, Citizenship and Work Habit grades are not mandatory. Some students may receive them and some may not. Please don’t worry if a Work Habit or Citizenship mark is not included in the Report Card. Here again is a video on how to check grades in Synergy:

School Pictures: This week, students received information about how to order school pictures. If interested, please ask your student for the packet they received in Homeroom.
What is ASES? ASES (After School Education & Safety) is aligned with the regular school day and provides a safe physical and social-emotional environment that supports building positive relationships. It is an extension of the school day and offers literacy and academic enrichment components. Studies show that participation in the ASES Program increases students’ attachment to their schools, improves academics, and provides a safe environment for students. Please check our ASES Website or contact our ASES Supervisor, Jireh Advincula for more info.
