IB Schools of Michigan Spring Symposium Sessions
DP: Extended Essay
PYP: Strengthening the Written Curriculum.
- This session is designed as an overview of how to implement the Extended Essay curriculum at your school. We will take a quick look at the logistics, the assessment criteria and what resources students need to be successful at writing the Extended Essay. We will discuss the foundational skills that students should have in terms of research skills. The EE Coordinator and subject area teachers need a good grasp of IB Command Terms in order to be able to successfully help their students with viable research questions. This is a good introductory seminar to school librarians, EE Coordinators and IB Coordinators if you are just starting the EE at your school or have been doing it for a few years.
- Workshop leader Klaudia Janek is the International Academy School Librarian, Michigan Association for Media in Education (MAME) President, AASL Affiliate Assembly Delegate, Extended Essay Coordinator, Personal Project Co-Coordinator and IB Workshop Leader (Librarians, Extended Essay). Klaudia was involved in the redevelopment of the Extended Essay curriculum and wrote the current Extended Essay IB workshop being taught globally to teachers.
