A Conference For Teachers, by Teachers
Teacher led professional development is powerful. According to a recent article from Education World, "Teacher-led professional development fosters accountability, collegiality, professionalism, and pride. Teachers feel appreciated and respected for their contributions and knowledge, and they become confident and more competent in their own teaching practice."
WBMS is teaming up with AHS to present a mini conference for our staffs. We are looking to provide a variety of learning opportunities and build relationships between our staff to better prepare our students for their next steps.
5 Different Types of Learning Opportunities
- Brainstorming Sessions (40 min)
- Instructional Sessions (40 min)
- Vertical Teaming Session (40 min)
- Round Table Discussions (20 min= 10 min present 10 min discussion)
- Poster Sessions (20 min)

- Actual presentation is due March 31st
- This is also a great opportunity to show that you continually engage in a high level of professional growth and application of skills and contribute to the development of others and the well-being of the school and community.

The Redefining Learning Conference is an event that provides school teams an opportunity to learn about the path to implementation of Fulton County's Personalized Learning initiative and various resource to aid them. The 7 Personalized Learning principles ignite opportunities for differentiated instruction and active learning, inspiring both teachers and students to engage in innovative ways to consume and create content. The option for independent, interdependent and collaborative work is with Fulton County's technology options.

Call for Presenters for Summer Summit
We’re excited about offering another great summer of learning! 2017 Summer Summit planning is underway, and the PL department is in the process of recruiting facilitators. Do you have personalized learning expertise that would be meaningful and worthwhile to share with other Fulton County teachers and leaders? If so, continue reading:

Dates: Elementary: June 5 & 6 and Secondary: June 7 & 8
Location & time: Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, 8am-3pm
Content focus: Deepening our knowledge and skills of personalized learning
