Carolyn Porco
Carolyn is a scientist. She is known for many things such as going on many long voyages, and leading many teams in the process of being on a mission. Carolyn works at NASA after receiving her PHD and BS or Bachelor of Science.
Early Life
Carolyn was born March,6,1953 in New York City. She is 63 right now. In 1970 she graduated from Cardinal Spellman High that is in the Bronx. She graduated from State University of New York in Stony Brook, after earning Bachelor of Science degree. She also received her PHD from the California Institute of Technology in the Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences in 1983. Going to School allowed her to go on many adventures to many different places like Saturn and studying the rings.
Working at NASA
Carolyn has been a part of many trips but she gets set on the trip for NASA. She has been guiding the american planetary exploration program. She also studies the planets and a part of that is she travels to the planet to get information on the planet she is researching. She has lead many voyages to Saturn, Jupiter and many others.
Many Long Trips
In 1980 Carolyn went to Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune and I have heard from a reliable source that it takes four days to get to the Moon. Can you imagine being away from your family for properly more than that, Think of the pressure to lead that kind of mission. I think she is kinda an expert on planetary rings and the Saturn moon and even Enceladus.
Conclusion
I can't even imagine how much time and effort she put into all of this. But after all I would say that it really paid off because she followed her dreams and tell her children all about her adventures to many planets. She has contributed to science in many ways like exploring the galaxy and discovering new things and leading teams on many long stressful missions. She has some serious leadership skills.
