Port Arthur I.S.D. SUMMER RECAP!
Parent and Family Engagement Fun in the Sun in 2022!
THE TITANS LITERACY EXPRESS
Just in case, YOU missed it! In the month of June, The TITANS Literacy Express was on the move! Parent and Family Engagement along with the City of Port Arthur Library visited eight elementary campuses to deliver FREE books to students. Parents were given the opportunity to sign-up their child for a Port Arthur Public Library card. Over 100 families signed up for library cards. Special thanks to Carolyn Thibodeaux, Port Arthur Public Librarian, and her team for their support and for making sure parents received same day library cards. A special shout-out to one of our own Wilson Early College High School students, Aanayjah Diggles, who worked at the City of Port Arthur library over the summer and was able to assist parents and students with The Titans Literacy Express. Thank you to each campus principal and summer school principal for your continued support. A "HUGE" thank you to our Port Arthur ISD parents and students for signing up for library cards. Finally, we could not have had such a successful event without the support of our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mark Porterie, and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction-Secondary, Dr. Melvin Getwood, thank you to the both of you as well. The TITANS Literacy Express will continue next summer. Don't miss out!
