Saint John XXIII June 20, 2021
Happy Father's Day
Leadership Message
Be a Spark of Light and a Source of Love
It was a beautiful moment to witness last weekend as some of our SAB grads made their way back to their elementary St. John XXIII Catholic School to honour their childhood friend, Connor, who left their side (but not our hearts) in grade one. His tree is planted at St. John to honour his memory. These former St. John kids took time to remember and to celebrate their moment with Connor(and his parents). We send our prayers and congratulations to all the SAB graduates of 2021. It was truly an honour to share in their journeys!
This week, we also celebrated our own small “graduates” as we said farewell to our grade fours on Thursday. As adults, we recognize that a Grade 4 farewell is a tiny step on a long and beautiful journey, however, it is a significant milestone for parents and staff as we witness the transformation from those baby-faced kinders to vibrant adolescents in five years. A lot of growth and change occurs in those years from K-4 with many milestones, challenges, and experiences. Every challenge, every experience provided an opportunity to become more and more of who they are today. Students will continue to be challenged and grow, each time adding rich colours to the masterpieces they are. Our students are now ready to spread their wings and leap from the Saint John XXIII nest into the exciting new adventures and opportunities waiting for them at St. John Paul II! Each one of them have made their mark on us and we are grateful for the time we were able to share in their journeys.
Tomorrow and Tuesday, we will celebrate our Kindergarten milestones. They have all grown so much in one short year.
No matter what grade milestone anyone is celebrating this year, every single child should feel very proud of their journey! This year every student faced challenges never before experienced in our lifetimes, they persevered through worries and obstacles, and held onto faith, hope and love. Together with their parents, teachers, and parish, our St. John students were a spark of joy and a center of love!
Congratulations to every student for your brave and resilient accomplishments this year!
Blessings,
Mrs. Bonnie-Lynne Boehm

Attention Grade 3 families
Dear Grade 3 Families,
As your child moves into grade 4, technology as a tool becomes significantly integrated into their learning. Students will be expected to have some type of Chromebook/computer to use during the school day. We have a partnership with Staples (see letter below) and this year, our STJ parents will have an option to purchase a used Chromebook.
For the upcoming 2021/22 St. John XXIII will be replenishing our school Chromebook carts. The used Chromebooks will be factory reset and inspected to ensure good working condition. Once this process is finished, we will be offering our grade 3 families (grade 4 families next year) the opportunity to purchase these Chromebooks at fair market value.
The 2 models that will be available are:
ASUS Chromebook Flip $40
