SCHOOLWIDE EXPECTATIONS
Please support high achievement for all students!
During the month of September, our staff is actively working to develop relationships and teach students the expectations of being a Proud Patriot. Your support as parents and caregivers will help ensure a positive and successful school year. The efforts we put in now to build trust and develop good social habits will yield better opportunities for high academic achievement for all our students.

22-23 CGE Expectations for Riding the Bus (This form will be sent home for your review and signature. ALL parents/caregivers will be asked to complete and return the form in case there are any instances this year where your child will be included in a school-based activity requiring TRRS busing.)
***Please note the following:
- CELL PHONE/TECHNOLOGY USE: Cell phones (or Smart Watches with call/text features) are not permitted to be in used in school. They should remain in a bookbag and at no time should a child be using apps, streaming video/music, calling or texting, and/or taking photos/videos. Students violating this rule will have their technology kept in the main office until a parent or guardian can attend a meeting with the principal regarding technology use.
- BUS EXPECTATIONS: Violations of bus expectations will result in a series of disciplinary actions, ranging from a discussion with the student to a loss of riding privileges, depending on the infraction.
NUT FREE
Celebrating Birthdays & Holidays...
As a courtesy to all our students with nut allergies and sensitivities, we ask that any treats sent in for birthday and holiday parties be "Nut Free." Thank you for your support!
ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
Please adhere to building procedures...
To be sure, arrival and dismissal are very stressful times of day. We are a large building with approximately 765 students. We currently have eleven large buses and six mini-buses, with the remainder of students designated as "walkers." It is a challenge to fit all the cars in the Brookside lot. We have had district security and Toms River Police evaluate our situation and due to the number of parents picking up by car, there are no alternative options for dismissal procedures.
Here is the link to our arrival and dismissal procedures. These procedures were located in the Welcome Back Letter and are included in our digital Proud Patriot Family Handbook.
Our goal is to have cars dismissed within 15 minutes from when students leave the building. From the first arrival of cars to emptying the lot, we expect it may take up to 30 minutes depending on what time you arrive.
It is my hope that we will continue to work out the kinks and dismissal becomes smoother. Success will be dependent on us all following the procedures safely, fairly and efficiently.

CGE'S PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
We are looking for three representatives...
For the past three years, we have enlisted input from parents through a variety of means, including google surveys and a Parent Advisory Committee. The thoughts and opinions shared have been invaluable to planning, goal setting and implementation.
We are again asking for volunteers to participate in a Parent Advisory Committee. Ideally, we would like three parent committee members to represent the following: 1) Younger elementary [K-2], 2) Older elementary [3-5] and 3) Special education [Any grade].
If you would like to be considered to serve on our PAC, please complete this form. Our first meeting will be held on Tuesday, 10/18/22 at 6:30pm. We will aim to meet three times during this school year.
We value your support!
