LOCKERS
Nurse Notes - Attention current 6th grade families
The North Dakota law 23-07-17.1 requires immunizations before admission to school. Immunizations required for 6th graders before entering 7th grade are Tdap and MCv4. If your child has had these immunizations, please bring your record to the school office. If not, please receive the needed immunizations. The immunizations can be received at your private physician’s office, or through Fargo Cass Public Health. The Fargo Cass Public Health phone number to schedule an appointment is 701-241-1383. These immunizations are a requirement to be in school. If your student doesn’t have the required vaccines, your student could possibly be excluded from school. Additional note, in case of a disease epidemic, children not meeting the immunization guidelines with an exemption form on file would not be able to attend school until there is no longer any danger of further spread of the disease in question.
Thank you,
Cheri Koch RN (school nurse Carl Ben)
FREE SCHOOL MEALS EXPIRING JUNE 2022
A waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has enabled schools across the nation, including Fargo Public Schools, to provide all students free meals since the COVID-19 pandemic first disrupted K – 12 education in March of 2020. The free school meal benefits will expire after the last school day of the 2021 – 2022 school year.
What does this mean for families? In the fall of 2022, meals will return to paid-for status. Families will need to pay full price for student meals or fill out an application to qualify for free or reduced price meals. Applications for the 2022-2023 school year will be available starting July 1, 2022. Applications will be available on the Nutrition Services Department website after that date and will be shared at the start of the 2022-23 school year with families.
