News and Notes September 21st
A Note from the Principal
- Parent Teacher Conferences are next week! Don't forget that we DISMISS EARLY on the 26th and we DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL FRIDAY. Marquette will also BE CLOSED ON September 30th for a Teacher Curriculum Day.
- Please remember that the deadline for Lunch and Pizza is Tuesday, September 24th at noon.
- A big thank you to Jen Blankenship and Neil Dieterle for chairing our RISE Trivia Night! It was an incredible event. Thank you to all of our sponsors and those that attended.
- Our drop off and pick up has greatly improved and I want to thank everyone for taking care to follow procedures. With recent repairs to gas lines as well as other city of Tulsa street maintenance, please be careful in the neighborhood as there are several areas with open excavations.
- Due to a glitch in our RenWeb/Facts system, you may have received an email from Mrs. Allred and her 4th Grade (4A) class. Please disregard.

SCRIP
Marquette is part of an exciting fundraising program called Scrip. This year-round fundraiser is easy to use and has the potential to earn a lot of money for our great school! Scrip allows registered users to buy gift cards from hundreds of retailers with a percentage of each sale going back to Marquette.
Scrip is another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. Examples of participating brands are Target, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Dillards, Macys, Gap, Uber, Zappos, Walmart, Sams Club, CVS, Walgreens, Panera, Lands' End, Home Depot, Papa John's, PetSmart, and 100s of others!
Families may register to buy cards online. Simply go to www.ShopWithScrip.com and register your family. Or use www.myscripwallet.com to download Scrip on your phone. Use the following enrollment code for Marquette:
61EC498C54L17
Once registered, you can choose from any of the participating retailers. Gift cards will be sent to school for pick up, or can be sent directly to your email via ScripNow where you'll be able to print and use immediately. If you're using MyScripWallet, you'll be able to buy gift cards on your phone and scan immediately at the store!
We can earn hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for Marquette, just by thinking ahead and ordering cards before we shop. If you need help getting started or have any question, please contact your coordinator, Chrissie Gipson. Thank you!

Box Tops
Box Tops will be collected from the turn-in boxes on Wednesday, 16 October! Please get any Box Tops you have collected turned in before then.
A few quick notes:
-Please be sure to check the expiration date on the Box Tops. Any expired Box Tops do NOT get counted toward our earnings.
-Separate Box Tops into groups of 50 if you have that many. If not, please include the total number of Box Tops collected. This will greatly help with counting!
-You can always turn in Box Tops at ANY time during the school year. They will be collected from the turn-in boxes and sent off twice a year; once in October and again in February. The collections dates will always be announced in advance. Any turned in after the collection date are counted toward the the next turn-in.
-There is now an app for this! If you have see a Box Top that states "Scan your receipt", all you do is download the app, create a sign in however you wish, select Marquette School, and scan the receipt. No need to clip, to count, to bag, to turn in. And you can see just how much money the school has earned!
Thank you for collecting Box Tops and supporting our wonderful school! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Kayley Nammari at kayley.nammari@gmail.com.

Prayer Request
Heavenly Father as we begin this new school year I pray that you would give us an understanding and discerning heart in our thoughts, words, and actions with our children, with their teachers, and with our fellow parents. Help us to be slow to anger but quick to respond to the needs, disappointment, and problems that others are facing.
Keep me Lord from developing a judgmental spirit that can so often jump to the wrong conclusions and prevent me for speaking too hastily, which can so often cause sadness and pain to those that are in need and trouble.
Lord as a community we want to be used by You as a channel of blessing and of loving compassion. Teach us, Lord, how to be the models for our children and we pray that You would change us from the inside out to be the person that You would have me to be. Lord, bless this school as we celebrate 100 years of Catholic education and may we do all things pleasing to You. Amen.
- For our students, parents, and teachers that we will experience a year of faith-filled development.
- For an increase in vocations within our Christ the King/Marquette community.
- For our Priests and for an increase in vocations to the Priesthood and religious life.
- For those separated from their families due to military deployment.
