What is Child Abuse & Neglect?
-Physical neglect: the failure to provide the necessities of life for a child. This includes the lack of medical care, inadequate nourishment, inappropriate clothing, lack of supervision, and inadequate housing.
-Sexual abuse: Child sexual abuse is the exploitation of a child for the sexual gratification of an adult or any significant older person. It is called incest if it occurs between family members. It can include a variety of behaviors such as fondling, verbal stimulation and pornography and many more violent behaviors such as rape.
-Emotional abuse and neglect: Sometimes emotional abuse is not what is done but what isn't done. Children who receive no love, support, or guidance may carry those scars into adulthood.
PHYSICAL ABUSE
Physical abuse is abuse involving contact intended to cause feelings of intimidation, injury, or other physical suffering or bodily harm.
SEXUAL ABUSE
Sexual Assault is a statutory offense that provides that it is a crime to knowingly cause another person to engage in an unwanted sexual interaction.
NEGLECT
Fail to care for a child or a persn properly.
What people can do?
Help Abused or Neglected people!
If you see a person constantly with bruises or wierd actions tell someone maybe they could be sexually, physicaly abused or neglected. It could be a person seeking for help !
Be a friend!
Talk to and abused or neglected person listen to them. Let them know that your there to help and not harm. Help them forget about there pass and start a whole new life!
Become a foster parent!
Many abused and neglected children are sent to home and you can be that person who gives the child love and care for it, but most importantly give the child a safe loving home.
