Principal's Update
What a great week to be a Hornet! Our Homecoming activities and dress-up days have been a big hit and tomorrow is the big day with a lot of activities planned for all of our students. There is more information below with specifics for the day. We also are still in need of pumpkin donations for our collaboration with Custer State Park!
We have another busy week next week, on Wednesday, our 7th & 8th Graders will be going to Custer for a 9:00 assembly by motivational speaker Corey Greenwood. The 4th-6th Graders will attend later in the morning. On Monday, there is a school board meeting here at the school. Moving forward every other school board meeting will take place in the lower commons here at school.
As the weather begins to cool down, please remember to send your child to school in appropriate cold-weather clothes. I hope everyone has a great weekend and finds time to relax with family and friends.

Happy Homecoming!
For Homecoming, we took a minute to refresh ourselves on what it means to have School Pride. Partaking in themed days, attending games and activities, and trying one's hardest in the classroom are a few of the ways our students show they are proud to be Hornets!
This week and next we are relearning our SWARM Value of being accountable during classroom guidance lessons. Being accountable takes a lot of responsibility. Our students know when they commit to being accountable they are honest, own up to what they've done, complete their work properly and follow expectations.
How do you model accountability at home?
October is Bully Prevention Month! Ms. Doris Ann came to Hermosa and read a few books related to bullies and how to fix things with kindness to the first grade during our classroom lesson.
Have a great weekend!
