Big picture
There are lots of fun and educational activities in which you and your students can participate this summer! The Outpost is a free summer drop-in activity and lunch program at Shute Park, Shadywood Park, and McKinney Park. Summer reading programs through the Hillsboro Library are also free and are a great way to keep learning over the summer and to earn a free book! If you’re interested in summer camps, check out the wide variety of options available through Hillsboro Parks & Recreation. For family fun, plan to attend the annual K-9 Trials on June 30 at Hare Field, and the 4th of July Parade in downtown Hillsboro. Want to exercise while fundraising for a good cause? Consider the C.A.T. Walk, raising money for a new mobile mammography van, taking place on July 4 just before the parade; and the One Small Step 5K, raising money for Prader-Willi Syndrome research, taking place on July 28 at Hilhi. Stay tuned to the Hillsboro School District Website for information on more great summertime activities!
