A Memo from Mrs. Doss
First wanted to thank each of you that were able to attend our Parent University on February 21st. We were excited about having feedback from our parents and plan to offer this each year. We did have winners from that evening with our door prizes ranging from board games to a Samsung tablet that was made possible by assistance from our PTO. Thank you as well to our amazing GBE PTO members that make the extras we do possible!
We have begun our Major Saver Fundraiser this week, and students are pumped up to reach certain levels of sales to be awarded a variety of prizes, even a pizza party and limo ride! Do know that this fundraiser is optional. The funds from this fundraiser assists in supporting The Moberly Public Schools Foundation, Inc.. This foundation is an independent, non-profit corporation created to assist in raising money to benefit programs and educational opportunities for our students in the district.
As the month progresses we will be holding our Spring Parent Teacher Conferences. These will vary from grade to grade with some being student led this quarter.
We will have more information as well later this month in regards to Summer School. This summer all grades will be housed at Gratz Brown for the elementary level. Due to some size constraints we will not be offering enrichment, and it will be an invite only program. This will be discussed with parents at our March conferences on the 14th and the 16th.
Look this week for information to come home and in our newsletter about our Spring McTeacher Night and cookies sales coming up. These forms will be in your children's Friday folders of this week.
Lastly, on the horizon in April we will begin our MAP testing. This will start on April 4th for Third and Fourth Grade. Fifth grade will begin later in the week on the 7th. We ask that you partner with us in assuring our students can do their absolute best on this assessment. Please make sure that they are getting enough rest, as well as a breakfast if they do not eat here at school.
We will be working to make sure if a student is absent that they make up the test, but ask that if possible please have any absences can be avoided during this time
Thank you for all you do as partners, and Happy Spring Approaching!
