The Contest

Write a script for a 30-second commercial parody while incorporating the people and services of the Digital Learning Department.


The Rules

The commercial should be a parody of popular commercials like the ones shown above. The commercial script must be appropriate for an audience of educators. It must not have profanity or harsh language. Script must include dialogue, visual, and audio cues. All writers must be listed in order to give proper credit. Scripts may be submitted as text in a Microsoft Word file or as a storyboard. All scripts are due by January 31, 2014.


The Fine Print

According to the Free Dictionary.com, "a parody is a literary or artistic work that imitates the characteristic style of an author or a work for comic effect..." While we know you have some great ideas of your own, we are wanting your script to creatively imitate that of some of the popular commercials we love.


The Digital Learning Department includes: Librarians, Digital Learning Specialists, and the Teacher Center. They may also include employees of the Technology Help Desk and applications like Skyward, Edmodo, Library Databases, etc.
