Alcova Elementary School
September 17, 2021
This year, is another unprecedented school year, and I know that it will come with challenges and stories of greatness. We are still in a pandemic, but teaching and learning is very important to us here at Alcova. We jumped right in to get our students focused on learning and our teachers are working diligently to ensure that they know all they can about our students and their learning styles and knowledge. We want to meet students where they are and support their learning.
While the numbers continue to rise with Covid-19, we are updating everyone with the following:
- We are not having ANY outside visitors for large events. Due to the need to social distance, our lunchroom cannot accommodate the parent at the table with students. We have designated a side room for parents to eat with their child only. We will keep you posted of any changes and appreciate your understanding.
- We are also noticing students coming to school with runny noses and 2 or more symptoms below. If your child has these, please don't send them to school. We do have some students and staff who have been struck with this virus unfortunately, and we want to reduce the spread as much as possible.
- Fever or chills
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
Remind your children to wear their masks while inside, wash their hands and social distance as much as possible.
Thank you for working alongside us to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus and for ensuring that your child continues to grow and remain motivated to learn. We are happy to be back in person and want to maintain this level of teaching and learning for our students.
