Dress Code Reminder - dress codes keep us safe. Students must wear their student ID and trustcards on lanyards. No hoodies, sweatpants or hats allowed in the building.
Student Identification Cards (ID) and Trust cards are a part of the student dress code.
Please make sure your student has their ID and trust card every day and they are prominently displayed on lanyards worn around the neck. This is important for safety and security purposes.
This policy is outlined in our Parent/Student Handbook (pg. 84):
Learners at Leadership Prep School will be given Trust Cards at the beginning of 5th grade. These cards are a visible symbol of our school’s culture of self-leadership, trust, respect, and responsibility. We expect each learner to be trustworthy, respectful of themselves and others, and responsible for their actions, belongings, and learning. Learners may forfeit their Trust Cards to staff members if they violate the school’s rules. Learners who do not have their trust card lose privileges in the building and in classrooms such as working in project workrooms or bringing a snack into class. In addition, student ID’s must be worn and visible at all times.
Failure to have a Student ID or trust card (unless the trust card was taken due to violation of school rules) is a dress code violation and will result in disciplinary action.
Thank you for partnering with us.

2023-2024 Volleyball Tryouts
Tryout Information - PLEASE READ
Middle School girls (current 5th-7th graders) will try out from 4:00-5:30 pm on April 19th. Cuts will be made, and invitations will be sent to attend on April 20th. If a 3rd day is needed, I will send another email to participate on Friday. I plan for MS tryouts to be completed by Thursday, April 20th. We plan to have 3 MS Teams and 3 HS Teams, 1 HS Team will be a BOYS team.
High School females (current 8th-11th graders) and males (current 5th-11th graders), your tryouts will be held from 6-8 pm. Cuts will be made, and invitations will be sent to attend on April 20th and 21st for the next round.
Please fill out this FORM for each female and male athlete trying out for the 2023 volleyball season.
**NEW NEXT SEASON**
We are excited to announce that LPS will offer a BOY'S volleyball team. They will register as a high school team, but middle school male players can try out and play. So they will play on the boy's net against high school players.
Please come with a completed physical (or have it uploaded in RankOne), water bottle, athletic shorts (spandex is not required), athletic top, court shoes, and kneepads (I have extra kneepads that can be borrowed if needed or new to the sport).
PARENTS, provide an email address that will be used to check for your athlete's invitation to the next round of tryouts; I would hate for someone to miss their invite.
PLEASE NOTE
1. A current physical must be on file BEFORE the athlete can try out if they are in 5th grade or above to participate in any LPS athletics. Physicals are valid for one calendar year, so if your athlete got one last summer, it is still good. You can look in RankOne for dates if you are a returning player. If not, you can just ask Coach Blankenship or me.
2. For players in 8th-11th grade (all incoming high school players), summer training will be mandatory. It will be held in the mornings (Mon-Thurs) and consist of strength, agility, flexibility, and jump training. There is a fee, and it will start in July. Unfortunately, it will only be in July due to our gym floor being replaced (YAY). Scholarships are available; please let me know if there is a need.
3. Team camps for the girls will be held for team members the 1st week of August. This is for all teams (MS and HS) and is mandatory. The boys' camp is TBD but will be held in August.
4. We will have a parent meeting in May after tryouts. I will coordinate a date that will work for most and let you know when that will be with the welcome email.
5. Tryouts are closed to parents and other students not trying out. You may come in and ensure they have all their documents and wish them luck but then leave the gym area. MS players must be picked up promptly at 5:30 pm so HS can prepare.
6. Those trying out for HS may stay after school but will only be allowed in designated areas until 5:30 pm, when they can enter and start warming up on the side area to start at 6 pm. HS players need to be picked up promptly at 8 pm so coaches can begin talking about selections so emails can be sent as early as possible
7. This sport has a $100 athletic fee, which must be paid by Sept 1, 2023.
We can't wait to see you there!

Our program exceeds the expectations of area schools allowing your student to have opportunities that others may not have until after high school.

LPS Parent Pride Patrol! Lions travel in prides, and ours needs help getting to class on time!
It is a program for parents to be involved and be leader and help us monitor the hallways. It's an easy job, you are actively present, slightly intimidating, yet friendly and you get to wear a cool vest and have a Walkie Talkie.
The Pride Patrol is a welcome presence in the hallways, stairwells and lunchroom. Parents can greet students, build rapport, check for hall passes and monitor safety. The time commitment is minimal. Time slots are in 30-minute increments. Sign up for one or several!
We currently have Pride Patrol on Mondays and Fridays.
Steps to get started:
- If you haven't already done so for this year, you will need to complete the yearly background check (this information is kept confidential) before serving (you don't hear back unless there is an issue)
Show up for your time slot(s) at the Secondary Front Office. You will need to check in with your ID. There will be a special place to get your Pride Patrol vest and Walkie Talkie.
- Review this list of things to look for and do while on patrol
Saturday School
Who is Saturday School for?
Students who have been identified as needing ACCELERATED INSTRUCTION (AI) and have been contacted by LPS prior to today.
- This means any student who needs hours toward their 30 Hours of tutoring for any STAAR subject they failed can come to Saturday AI School from 8:30 to 12:30.
- Remember, 30 hours of tutoring is needed for each STAAR subject a student fails.
- For students who failed more than one STAAR subject, Saturday School might be necessary for your student to complete their required number of tutoring hours for each subject.
- Students making up hours for TRUANCY have been contacted by LPS prior to today and may be able to attend Saturday School.
AI Saturday School is also a great resource for students who are struggling in a subject and need extra help prior to testing.
Students should be dropped off at the main front entrance of the school and check in with Ms. Ray at the front desk once they enter the building before reporting to their tutoring classroom. If you have any questions regarding AI Saturday School, please contact Loralea Ray at lray@lpsfrisco.com. Please be sure to reference your student’s name, grade, and subjects needed for tutoring in the email.
