Welcome to our new CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

International Space Challenge
A team of Year 10 students took part in the International Space Challenge at RAF Waddington this week. The six students competed against other schools across the region, to design and market a space hotel of the future.
Year 10 Student Achievement
They used their science and engineering knowledge to design the hotel and build a model, considering details such as materials, power, cost, waste, food etc.
Anti Bullying Campaign
Our anti-bullying focus group had their first meeting this week, students were excellent and have started work on redesigning the anti-bullying initiative for launch in August 2017.
Star of the Week
Student:
- Miss Bridges has nominated 7T for their amazing assembly that they prepared in their RSCS lesson on "I have a dream" and leaders. This is part of their PiXL Edge course they are completing.
- Miss Longhurst has nominated Alex 9C for his hard work on the History assessment.
- Mr Bidwell has nominated Gabby 7T for her continued effort and hard work in Geography.
- Mrs Wiley has nominated Logan 10C for his hard work and commitment in English.
- Mrs Ferns, Mr Lee and Mr Horne would like to say well done to all Year 10 students who sat their first mock exam in the hall. The invigilating staff were very positive about behaviour and mature attitude. Good luck for Paper 2 and Paper 3 on Tuesday and Wednesday. They would also like to say Good luck to other year groups for their end of year assessments next week.
- Mr Gourlay has nominated Amelia and Tinashe 9T for their excellent commitment in Computer Science, attending Session 6 lessons to keep up to date.
- Mr Cox has nominated Sam and Wojciech 7T for excellent Science revision work.
- The Science team have also nominated Year 10 scientists for their hard work and dedication, completing two core practicals in a lesson. They also nominate Luke 8S for excellent attitude ahead of end of term assessments.
- Mr Harley has nominated Leah 8S for the anti-bullying PowerPoint during tutor time. Mr Harley has also nominated Ana and Shay 7S for supporting other students during the Kite project.
- Mr Harley and Mr Crook have nominated Year 9 Engineers for rising to the CAD challenge and producing excellent work.

- Miss Lowe would like to thank all the exam invigilators for their support during the GCSE examinations.
Celebration of Student Work
Cycle Event
The BWT Cycle Event took place this week. Schools completed against each other is a series of events. This also raised awareness of cycle safety.
RAIR Project
Alistair Patrick - Heselton visited school again this week following on form the work completed for the RAIR project.
Year 10 Team Building
Alistair carried out team building exercised with a small group of Year 10 Students.
