Message from Dr. Frischkorn
Hello Mayfield!
We have finalized our student rosters for our upcoming SOL assessments that we will be administering between May 3rd to May 19th. Your child's homeroom teacher will be relaying information to students starting next week. The school administration will also mail home letters to parents that share testing dates and bus information.
During the first week of testing, here is what to expect:
Monday, May 3: Reading SOL for both 5th and 6th grade: We had to schedule SOL exams for additional students on Mondays. We will have a mix of 5th and 6th-grade students on Monday taking their SOL exam. Teachers have been communicating with students about their assigned testing day.
Tuesday, May 4: Group 1 of 5th-grade students will be taking the reading SOL.
Wednesday, May 5: Group 2 of 5ht-grade students will be taking the reading SOL.
Thursday, May 6: Group 1 of 6th-grade students will be taking the reading SOL
Friday, May 7: Group 2 of 6th-grade students will be taking the reading SOL

Example of a Daily Agenda for Students Reporting to School for SOL Testing
- 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM- Student arrival
- 7:30 AM to 7:45 AM - Breakfast will be served in the classroom. All students will be offered breakfast free-of-charge
- 7:45 AM to 8:00 AM- Students log on to their computer using the Test Nav log-in information. Computer software will be automatically updated during this time
- 8:00 AM to 8:15 AM- The goal is to have all students begin testing by this time.
- 8:15 AM to 11:00 AM- Testing will be ongoing. Students do not have a time limit. Students have the entire school day to work on their SOL exam if they require it.
- 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM- Lunches will be provided to students free of charge. Students will report to the cafeteria by campus. School administration, the School Safety Officer, the School Resource Officer, and other staff assigned will support students in the cafeteria while they eat. Students will need to maintain social distance during their lunch period.
- 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM: Finish up testing for all students. As classes begin to finish we will develop a schedule so that teachers can take their classes outside for some outdoor activities.
- 2:00 PM to 2:20 PM: Dismissal for all students. We are providing more time to help students during the dismissal process. We are going to make sure that all students get on the appropriate bus and are ready to return home. Parents that are picking students up will park in front of the school in a single car lane.
- 2:20 PM: Buses will depart Mayfield Intermediate School and begin dropping students off at their assigned bus stops. These will be the same bus stops from the morning pickup.

Homerooms will be divided into two different groups. Group 1 students will test on a specific day, and group 2 students will test on a specific day. Testing group sizes will range from 8 to 12 students per group. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to the students during the day.
As we work towards finalizing our SOL schedule and testing procedures, we ask that you please fill the form below to let us know your testing preference for your child.
