Message from the Principal
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you enjoyed your break and time with your loved ones as I did. As we near our second semester, our staff is spending time reviewing our Hamilton Mission Statement, “to nurture, inspire, and challenge our students to become confident, creative, and successful leaders of tomorrow." It is important to us that we do not lose sight of where we are and where we would like to be by the end of this school year. We meet regularly to review student rosters and identify students who need additional support in specific areas. We have been putting plans into place to help meet those needs, whether it be more time on learning tasks, inclusion in one of our small groups for intervention, or behavioral support.
Parents are integral partners in this process and we need you to join us in frequently monitoring your child’s learning. Here are some ways you can help:
• Discuss with your child how their day went.
• Read to or with them every day. A high level of independent reading is one of the key indicators of school success—plus it is fun!
• Help them prepare for the next topics in math.
• If you have computer access, encourage them to use their school accounts to help build their skill sets in reading and math.
• Talk with them about the importance of school and getting a solid foundation for learning. The good habits they establish now in elementary school will serve them well for years to come.
And, please continue to communicate with your child's teacher.
WELCOME Ms. McGee! Here is a bit about the new improv teacher.
