Humble ISD Advanced Academic's checklist and Dual Credit Summer Academy Parent Flyer
Humble ISD offers a Dual Credit Summer Academy in partnership with local community colleges to allow students the opportunity to earn high school and college credit in the summer. Students receive high school credit on their transcripts if they earn a C or higher in a course, as well as receiving college credit transcripted through the partner community college. The classes for eighth graders will be through online courses with Lone Star College.
Step 1: Students meet with Mrs. Carter, 8th grade counselor, to discuss the right classes to take for the students' dual credit plan
Step 2: Determine the TSIA2 test score requirements
Step 3: Complete the Apply Texas Application
Step 4: Take the TSIA2 Assessment. Humble ISD TSIA2 Registration Form
Step 5: Fill out the online course selection form (requires College ID number and uploading of the TSIA2 Scores)
Step 6: Complete these two forms and submit them, along with your child's TSIA2 Test Scores to Mrs. Carter:
TSIA2 Test Scores
Students may take the TSIA2 test through the partner college (Lone Star), or on specific Saturdays in Humble ISD.

TSIA2 SATURDAY ADMINISTRATION DATES
Humble ISD offers several ways for high school students to earn college credit. Your child can start taking advantage of these learning opportunities during the Humble ISD Dual Credit Summer Academy after 8th grade. The first requirement for an 8th grader is to take the TSIA2 exam (Texas Success Initial Assessment 2.0). This exam is a placement exam used to determine college readiness. Humble ISD will be administering the TSIA2 exam on the following dates and locations:
For the 2022-23 school year, the dates for Humble district TSIA2 Saturday administrations are:
- January 28, 2023 - Sconzo Early College High School
- February 18, 2023 - Humble High School
- March 25, 2023 - Summer Creek High School
- April 15, 2023 - Atascocita High School (Final Humble ISD site testing date)
Students from the hosting campus will be allowed to register approximately two weeks prior to the administration, and students from the rest of the district will be allowed to register for any remaining spots about one week prior to the administration. To sign up use the Humble ISD TSIA2 Registration Form. The same form/link will be utilized for each administration. Once all available spots are filled, the form will be made inactive until registration begins for the following administration date.
Students take TSIA2 tests on a computer and results are provided immediately upon completion of the exam. For more information, you can visit the College Board website.
