Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- September 23, 2022
Principal's Message
Hello Seco Families,
Our first Parent Advisory Council meeting is this coming Monday at 8:30 am via Zoom. See below for more information.
If your child is attending the Fall Dance tonight, make sure they bring their physical copy of their student ID. They do not need anything but their ID and a phone, so have them leave everything else at home. Please be patient and make sure to pull all the way forward when dropping off and picking up, and follow all traffic safety rules. We encourage you to carpool as much as possible since we have a very large number of students who bought tickets. Please remind your children to follow all school rules at the dance so they do not lose the privilege of attending future events or have to be picked up early. The dance ends promptly at 8 pm so please make sure you pick them up on time. Thank you.
Please make sure to follow all traffic safety laws when dropping off and picking up your students. One area of concern is parents illegally stopping on Decoro for drop off or pick up. This creates an unsafe situation which also impacts and impedes the flow of traffic. Please drive into the campus parking lot to pick up your children. Students can also walk home, ride their bike, or take the bus. Thank you for assisting us in helping to ensure the safety of all students.
Thank you as always for all of your support and have a fantastic weekend!

The Dangers of Fentanyl
The district recently sent out information about the dangers of fentanyl, including a link to a film that is being shown in our high schools. I would encourage you to view the film and consider watching it with your junior high school student: https://youtu.be/iJgPmrLjkuo
I encourage you to have a conversation with your student about not purchasing or taking any unknown substances. A drug laced with a tiny amount of fentanyl can be deadly.
For more information, the City of Santa Clarita will be holding a parent symposium titled "Chasing the High" this evening, September 23rd. The resource fair begins at 5:30 and the symposium begins at 6:00 pm, at the Santa Clarita City Hall. Please see the flyer below.
