Science Olympiad is coming!
Middle Creek Elementary School has a long history with the North Carolina Science Olympiad Organization. In fact, MCES has won many team trophies and individual medals throughout the years. As we launch the 2017 MCES-SO Program, we invite all 3rd-5th graders to sign-up and go for the GOLD!
There is an informational meeting today after school, at 3:00PM, in room 509.

MCES Food Drive:
Middle Creek is sponsoring our 11th annual Food Drive to benefit the The Holly Springs Food Cupboard from Tuesday, October 18th through Thursday, October 20th and then Tuesday, October 25th through Thursday, October 27th . You can drop off food and hygiene items from 8:00a.m to 8:30 a.m to the principal’s office each day of the Food Drive. (Please no GLASS PRODUCTS or EXPIRED FOODS). Our goal is to fill up the entire office and make our largest donation yet to help our neighbors, friends, and family in the Holly Springs community.
Would you like to help? We need volunteers to receive and stack donations for a short time in the principal’s office each morning of the food drive (8:00 to 8:45/9:00AM) and on Friday, November 4th for Donation Pick Up.

Box Top Contest!
The beginning of the year has been full of excitement and counting for our Box Top volunteers. We are busy counting and cutting your Box Tops submissions and looking forward to announcing a winner of our first contest that ends Friday, October 7th! Who will be the top class on your track??? The winning class from each track gets a pizza party! So far, the leaders are:
Track 1 – Atcheson
Track 2 – Duhamel
Track 3 – Slozak
Track 4 – Boylan
Remember – there’s still time! Turn in your Box Tops by Friday, October 7th!
Don’t forget, to upload your receipts to the Shoparoo app (http://app.shoparoo.com/share/szn8tb82) and we also collect Campbell’s Labels for Education and Tyson A+ Project labels. Every bit helps raise money for our kids and teachers!
The Silent Partner Program
Mrs. Fillard, the school counselor, and Mrs. Lesniak, the school social worker, are asking for volunteers for a new program.
The Silent Partner Program has been successful at many other schools, and we would like to start this program at MCES. The purpose of the program is to help any MCES families who are experiencing a school-related need. This program may be used to secured funds for field trip money or other school items, or to gather donations of clothing, shoes, etc. By becoming a silent partner, you may help as much or as little as you wish. Mrs. Fillard will send an email to all "silent partners" when there is a need, and you can choose if you would like to donate at that time. If you would like to be part of the Silent Partner program, please email Mrs. Fillard with your name and the best email address for contact. Thank you!
Calling all Landscapers
MCES PTA is in need of a Grounds Committee Chair. This position helps MCES and Wake County beatify the school. Once or twice a year, we are slated for a refresh of mulch to be delivered and we need someone to help coordinate getting it in all the right spaces. If you love working outside and have an interest in volunteering at school with a LOW commitment, this might be for you.
