I.H.S. Principal's Newsletter
October, 2018
Happy Autumn!
I hope that your October is going well! Most people wouldn't think of it right away, but October is one of the busiest months of the school year. We have our Fall sports tournaments in progress, the 1st academic quarter is winding down, and we are fully into the new school year. This is my favorite month of the year, as there is nothing like driving through the Metroparks, enjoying the cooler weather, and seeing the leaves all aflame. What a great time of year!
It's ALWAYS a great time of year at I.H.S., so here we go...
Homecoming 2018
Over 300 students and guests attended the Homecoming Dance in the I.H.S. Cafeteria on Saturday night. Thanks to Mr. Mike Morefield, our Student Council advisor, and Mrs. Kris Paulus, our Senior Class advisor, for all that they did to make the weekend a smashing success!
Thanks also to Dr. Schatt and the I.H.S. Marching Band for their wonderful performances during the halftime Court ceremony at the game! What a great weekend!
All In For Coach X
Also, the entire student body and staff made a "gray ribbon" on Alumni Field in the afternoon on October 19th in Coach X's honor.
Thank you to everyone who donated to this special cause! And a special thanks to Coach X! You are an inspiration to ALL of us at I.H.S. and to our whole community!

End of The Quarter/Attendance
Additionally, please remember that one of the most important factors in a student's academic achievement is regular daily attendance. This includes being to school on time. Being tardy by a few minutes day after day can really add up over time. If you have any questions regarding attendance policies, please feel free to contact Mr. McGuinness or Mrs. McGhee. Thank you!
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Special thanks to the I.H.S. PTO for providing dinner to our staff members during both conference nights! We appreciate your generosity!
