Mr. Posick's Friday email
November 20, 2015
It's cold outside!
Well, we knew the weather was going to change, and change it did. Please speak with your child about what they wear to school. Part of the 35 minute lunch break the students have includes recess, and we go outside until the temperature is 0 degrees or the wind chill is -15 degrees. And yes, I do go outside with the kids every day, sporting my snow pants whenever necessary. If you have a need for warm clothes, please don't hesitate to contact us here at school. Thanks for your attention to this matter.
Do you know how I communicate?
Many of you know that I am active on Twitter and have started posting on Facebook, both from our school accounts (@mertonint and Merton Intermediate Facebook page). Sometimes I even share the same pictures in the weekly smore that you're reading. If you'd like to see past editions of the smore or would like to know our daily student announcements, you can find them here on my website. If there's something that you'd like to know about that isn't on my website, please don't hesitate to contact me at school via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (262-538-1130, ext. 2001).
Forensics starts soon!
Thanks to the leadership of Miss Koch and Mrs. Iwanski, our 6th-8th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in forensics. There is a parent meeting on Tuesday, December 1st at 5:30 if you'd like to learn more. There is also information in the form of a pdf included in the email containing this week's smore.
Next week is a 2 day week!
Don't forget that there are only 2 days of school next week, Monday and Tuesday, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. If your child will be absent, please make sure to contact the office. We also will not be having Practice with Mr. Posick (Homework Club) after school on Tuesday, November 24th. Practice will resume on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning with Tuesday, December 1st at its normal 4:15-5:15 time slot.
