Ready for the Road Ahead?

Stanton Elementary 2022-2023 Volume 3

A Moment with Mrs. Miller

Here we are in the middle of September and getting ready to end our 1st six weeks. Report cards will go home next week. Remember that our tasks get harder as the year goes on, so if you have any concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher.

We are off to a great start and hope that you will join us for some of the upcoming events here and then plan to be at those listed below:

  • 9-21-22 We will have a short meeting at 4:00 to discuss our accountability from the 21-22 school year.
  • 9-29-22 We will have a coffee with the admin and talk all things Title 1 at 9:00 in the cafeteria.

School shirts that were ordered should be here next week!

We are really working on improving behavior and students are working through Think Sheets to reflect on behaviors. We are also doing some prizes on Fridays by drawing tickets students have receiving for having good behavior.

If your child rides the bus, please continually remind them to sit facing forward and follow all the bus rules. We have had nearly 30 bus referrals this year and we want to do our part to keep our students safe and riding.

Counselor Corner

Hello Stanton families... I wanted to share with you some of the ways I am working with our students this school year. I always describe my job as helping our students to be happy, healthy, & safe. My ultimate goal is to help each of our students to become the best they can be. I often tell classes "lets make today better yesterday & tomorrow better than today."

Character Education

I visit classes monthly to discuss our Character Trait of the Month. During September, we are discussing how to be a good friend.

Theme: In order to HAVE a friend, first you have to BE a friend.

Social Emotional Learning

We are continuing with our program called Move This World. These are short & interactive lessons that are shown daily helping our students understand their feelings & how to handle them in appropriate ways.

Please contact me if there is ever a way I can help your student.
