Lancer Update 9.24.2021

From Mr. D

We Have Spirit, Yes We do!

It has been great to see hats, class colors, and comfy clothes all week as we prepare for Homecoming! To finish the week, today is picture day!

Speaking of spirit: we're looking for some Helendale Lancers to carry our Heledale banner and walk in the homecoming parade Saturday. My family will be there, and if your lancer is interested in walking/carrying the banner - please send me an e-mail (sdabreu@eastiron.monroe.edu) so I can look out for you! We meet at 10:00 over at the high school on 9/25!

Curriculum Night & Book Fair

Next Thursday, 9/30, we will have our annual curriculum night - IN PERSON! We begin in your child's classroom at 5:30. From 6:00-7:30, we will have the chance to enjoy pizza outside, and your family can browse the bookfair in the gym! It's going to be a great night, and I can't wait to see all of you!

Please note: all persons entering the building must wear a mask.

We're in it together!

Covid-19 Testing

The NYSDOH is requiring East Irondequoit to offer weekly screening COVID-19 testing to all our unvaccinated students WITH parent/guardian permission. These are the Abbott BinaxNOW shallow nasal swab tests provided by the Monroe County Department of Health. Consent is required for all students. If you would like to opt your student(s) into testing, please log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and click on the link in the announcement pictured below. The Infinite Campus Parent Portal can be found here: https://ic.eastiron.monroe.edu/campus/portal/parents/eiron.jsp You may also print out the consent form and return the form to your student’s school. If you do not want your student to participate in COVID-19 weekly testing, you do not have to take further action. Weekly testing will begin the week of October 4th and parent/guardian will be notified prior to the test being administered.
