Housekeeping
I mentioned in our zoom meeting this week two things that I wanted to clarify as you begin the process of cleaning/organizing your classrooms.
1. Be thinking about organizing your district purchased resources for a quick inventory of all mentor text and teacher manuals for School-wide, your math teaching materials, and science teaching materials.
- Email Kelly when your resources are ready to be inventoried. She will complete the inventory.
- Inventory of district purchased resources must be done before May 28.
2. Also, as you collect and organize bookroom books please, collect all books from student book boxes and desks. It is a good idea to do a quick run through of your classroom library to ensure book room books didn’t get misplaced. Remember to keep the book collection the district purchased, separate from your personal books. We will need to inventory these district purchased classroom library books as well. This summer we will be working in the bookroom. Therefore, please help us out by returning all books in the correct location. Even if you have a single, please find it’s home.
If you have any questions as you are working to ensure we have district materials for next year, please contact me.
The Book Whisperer
Mrs. Haugen sent this out via email a few weeks ago, I just wanted to encourage you to sign up-it’s not too late!
If you are interested in this book study, you can snag the book from Amazon for ~$16.00. Amazon also offers an audible book. From this book study, I hope to take away new ideas to cultivate a love for reading and inspire our students to read independently. If you are considering this book study, order your book today and encourage your colleagues to sign up with you.

Building Projects for MH
1. Parking - See the attached plan for additional parking we are currently bidding to add paved access to the playground with some additional parking spaces and additional parking down the hill from the current parking off the Carol Street access. We are also bidding pole lights for this additional parking.
2. Playground - We are receiving bids to pave the pea gravel playground area and install rubber playground surfacing under this equipment. We have already bid and replaced the rubber under the playground equipment that had it and removed the smaller playground to allow for access once the trailer is installed.
3. Mobile Classroom - We are moving one of the mobile classrooms currently in use at JCHS to the playground. Students will access the trailer through the playground doors on the landing. ADA access will be provided through the 2009 addition close to the elevator.
4. Roof - We are currently in the process of replacing a large portion of the roof.
5. Stairwell infill - We have received bids and are moving forward with infilling the stairwell close to the 2009 addition (between 3rd and 1st grades) This will create two usable flex spaces that can be utilized in a number of ways to support teaching and instruction.

Google Classroom
It's important that you are monitoring what students are doing in Google. You can periodically check in on the chat features and your class to see what students are doing. If you have concerns with what the students are doing, please contact parents. If there are additional concerns, let Sue or Dawn know so we can address it.
We want Google Classroom, Chat, and Meet to be a safe and valuable space for students during this time. We don't want it causing additional stress because some are not using it correctly.
It is best to make your link for Google Meet hidden or create a nickname for your meet. Below is a video for making your link hidden.
Here is a link that explains how to ensure you're kids are not able to meet on Google Meet without you!
