The Star Gazer

For Shaw Families {1/10-1/14}

Wow how fast things change! We just sent out an update to COVID protocols and then learned yesterday that the state has changed them again. We are attaching the new protocols below. Basically, we are now following something similar to the CDC guidelines. We are still offering our Test to Stay program if a student is exposed at school. Now, if a parent chooses this option, they will test for 5 days while wearing a mask, and then continue the mask wearing for an additional 5 days. As always, reach out to myself, Mrs. Little, or Nurse Teena if you have specific questions.

January 17 and February 14 are both No School days. We wanted to make sure you had those marked on your calendars.

MAP Testing for all students is coming up in the next couple of weeks. We can't wait to share students great progress with you all.

We are also starting new School-wide intervention groups next week to ensure that all students have the time they need to master grade level phonics skills. These groups start right at 7:50 am. Please do your best to get students to school before the bell rings at 7:45.

Safety- The doors are locked at 7:45 am. If the bell has already rung, please pull to the front to check in your child. It is not safe to leave them at the doors waiting for someone to let them in. Secondly, we know that the parking lot in the front can be congested in the mornings. You are welcome to park near the flag pole when dropping students off. However, please do not allow students to walk across by themselves. Walk them across the crosswalk and to the front door. Sometimes the office is unattended and we don't want students waiting outside by themselves. Thank you for helping to ensure the safety of all our students each day!

We hope you all have a great weekend! Next week is going to be amazing!
