Congratulations to Ashley Yun who won the 2022 CIF Southern Section Ford Girls Golf Championship! Ashley shot a -3 (69) and punched her ticket into the state tournament by qualifying in regionals yesterday!

On Thursday, the Walnut High School Orchestra presented their annual Autumn “Autumn Serenade” concert. This year, they were joined by the Suzanne Middle School Challenger Orchestra and guest conductor, Dr. Gene Moon, Director of Orchestra Studies at Cal Baptist University! Thank you to everyone who came and supported our music program!

This week our Drama students went to Disneyland to attend the Disney Broadway Workshop. Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible and the chaperones who helped out.

Come support Boys Basketball 🏀 on November 16 during their first home game of the season against Ayala High School at 6:30 PM. The Walnut Volleyball program will be hosting a Taco Fundraiser that evening with all proceeds being donated to the boys basketball program. Pre-sale tickets are available to purchase in room J7 or purchase tacos that day of the game.

Tacos will be available starting at 6:00 PM on November 16.

The American Association of University Women is happy to announce that they are going to have their 7th annual speech contest. The topic is about voting rights. Great opportunity for high school students to develop communication skills. Last year the first place prize was $1500 and the local was $300 for first place. One of their first place winner is doing an internship at the Governor’s office. Looks good on applications and resumes. Judges are community members such as members of the City Council.

Educational travel gives students lifelong memories and helps them grow in countless ways. This includes gaining more confidence to developing a greater sense of empathy!

Mrs. O'Shields is taking students to Madrid, Barcelona & The Basque Country in the spring 2023. Explore the beautiful cities of Madrid, Segovia, Burgos, Bilboa, San Sebastian, Pamplona, and Barcelona!

While we know that the transition to high school is an exciting time, we also know that it is a time in which you will have some questions. As your Grade Level Coordinators, we look forward to supporting you each step of the way and answering each question you have. This website has a tremendous number of resources, and we encourage you to look through the content weekly. It is our goal to provide you with the most dynamic high school experience while preparing you for your post-secondary goals. GO MUSTANGS!

During the culmination of this month, our Freshmen GLCs are emphasizing Habit #3 of the Freshman Roadmap. Habit #3 emphasizes that finding resources is a necessary skill for lifelong learning and effective work in many fields. Our website, classof2026.net is a resource that helps students find answers to questions about their own about social/emotional awareness, Walnut High School graduation requirements, a through g graduation requirements, various mustang pathways and much more.

Due to many problems and safety issues we DO NOT allow student lunches to be delivered anywhere on campus.

Food, drinks or other items are NOT to be passed to students through the fence. This is strictly prohibited.

Outside Food Delivery Services such as UBER Eats/Door Dash is strictly prohibited. Food will be confiscated if deliveries are dropped off.

We understand the importance of student nutrition but we encourage students to either use the free lunch at school or bring their lunch from home.

Students must attend every class, every day, and be on time. In order to receive daily credit, students are to bring all necessary materials to class. Students will not be excused from class to get materials. Homework and class assignments are to be completed on time and to the best of the student’s ability. Only behaviors befitting the learning environment are acceptable. Students are to comply with all reasonable requests of any staff member. Dress code will be enforced.

Please remember that attendance counts, every period, every day. Students will be marked absent if they are not at the beginning of each period to verify their attendance.

All single-period absences will need to be reconciled through the attendance office by the student. If marked absent, students will receive an email from the attendance office notifying them that they have been marked absent. The notification will include the date and period of the absence. The student will need to contact the Attendance Department to make any necessary corrections to their individual period attendance. For full-day absences, a parent/guardian must contact the attendance office by the end of the day.
