Dear WBSD Families:
Congratulations! We have made it through what will likely be the most unique and challenging school year in our history. Thank you for your support and for trusting us to provide the best educational experience possible for your children.
I am very proud of what the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District was able to accomplish this school year. None of it would have been possible without our amazing teachers, administrators, and support staff.
As we look forward to the summer months, I just wanted to share some information with you.
First, our students’ learning and engagement should not end just because it is summer. In all grades, K-12, the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District is offering extended learning opportunities, from hosting Parks and Recreation programs and opening up our media centers, to providing learning camps and high school credit recovery.
Second, as we prepare for the 2021-22 school year, we are doing so with the intent of providing full-time, in-person instruction and learning, to all WBSD students, in safe, healthy, and welcoming environments. If you have a concern, either now or in the fall, about returning to in-person learning, please begin that conversation with your building principal.
Finally, meal distributions will continue throughout the summer. Pick-up locations will be at Woodhaven High School and Brownstown Middle School, on Mondays from 2-4 p.m. Additional information, including bus stop meal distribution sites, is available on our website, www.mywbsd.org.
Thank you for your continued support of the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District. Have a safe and healthy summer.
Sincerely,
Mark Greathead Superintendent
Woodhaven-Brownstown School District

Communities Come Together to Support WBSD $144 Million Bond Proposal
Thank you to our communities for supporting our bond proposal! The WBSD is dedicated to providing the very best for our students in maintaining our vision as a destination for excellence. We cannot do this without the continued support of our communities.
As we plan for the next 8-10 years, this bond will allow the district to continually improve facilities, upgrade technology and equipment, increase program enhancements and provide improvements to athletic fields, playgrounds and site improvements.
Thank you for your continued support. By working together, we have proven we can do great things!

Phase I Bond Construction to Begin with WHS Athletic Improvements
Bond construction work is set to begin in July 2021 at Woodhaven High School with the construction of new turf baseball and softball fields, as well as a multi-purpose practice field which will give our sports teams and Marching Band a dedicated practice field. Phase I scope of work also includes bullpens and batting cages, as well as expansion of the west parking lot. Work is set to be completed by November 2021.

Senior Walk Returns for the Class of 2021
With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, the Class of 2021 was able to participate in the annual "Senior Walk"; and on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, Seniors were bussed to their former elementary schools and had a chance to walk the outside perimeter while staff and students cheered them on.
The "Senior Walk" was born with the Class of 2016 and has became a beloved tradition for each graduating class. According to Mr. Matthew Czajkowski, WHS Principal, he read an article about a southern high school doing this and after some discussion, WHS administration decided to implement the idea at WHS. As a result, a new tradition was born. Unfortunately, the Class of 2020 was not able to participate due to COVID-19 so the return of this time-honored tradition was very much appreciated by the district.
Congratulations Seniors!
Congratulations to the Class of 2021
With the lifting of outdoor COVID-19 restrictions in early June, Woodhaven High School was able to showcase graduates during its annual Commencement Ceremony on Monday, June 14, 2021. Families gathered in Frank Scarton Memorial Stadium to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2021.
Congratulations Class of 2021! The WBSD wishes you well in whatever you choose to do.
