Health & Safety Reminders
As Flu season is upon us, here are a few reminders to keep you and your children healthy. We will be reinforcing good hygiene practices in school and hope that you can reinforce at home.
- Flu symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, feeling tired and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea.
- Flu vaccination is recommended for everyone 6 months and older every year.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes.
- Wash your hands often.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Keep your child home from school for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone. (The fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.) A fever is defined as 100°F (37.8°C)* or higher.
2023-2024 Kindergarten Registration
Attention East Brunswick residents with young children!
Children who will be five years of age on or before October 31, 2023 are eligible for the East Brunswick Public School full-day kindergarten program for the 2023-2024 school year.
Please visit www.ebnet.org for information and registration instructions.
All required forms and additional information can be found on the website.
Incoming Kindergarten students must be registered by June 1, 2023 in order to participate in the June Kindergarten classroom visit and screening.
This fall, our neighbors at Chittick School were gifted with Murray A. Chittick’s personal writing desk. They will be unveiling the desk and many other personal artifacts on Thursday, March 30. In conjunction with Dr. Moran, they are also curating an artifact museum to capture the time period that the school has been in existence. The museum will also be open the day of the event.
If you or any member of your staff/family/friend group are alumni of Chittick School we are asking for a short video (see flyer) highlighting a favorite memory of the school. These can be sent to email@example.com
School Lunch - Share Table
The East Brunswick School District has resumed the use of Share Tables during meal service. The intent of the Share Table is to get food to our students that are food insecure. At the end of meal service, food at the Share Table will be turned over to the nurse’s office. Please feel free to share feedback and/or suggestions on this initiative that will hopefully have a positive impact on our students. Learn more about the Share Table initiative by watching this video.
Students who do not have time to eat their breakfast in the cafeteria may pick up a breakfast upon arrival and eat it in their classroom.
Students that qualify for free or reduced-price meals can receive breakfast and lunch at no charge. Families may apply for free and reduced-price meals at any time during the school year. The application may be found in your child’s Parent Access account under the “Forms” tab. Please click here to enter Parent Access.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
