WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL -8/26/22-

ST JOSEPH REGIONAL JR. HS

St. Joseph Regional Jr. High School is a Catholic, co-educational, inclusive learning community in which students learn and grow in respect for God, themselves, and others, engage in academically rigorous curricula and a wide-range of meaningful service and enrichment experiences.

A few words from our Principal..

Dear St. Joseph Families,

I am genuinely excited to welcome you all to the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year! The faculty and staff have been hard at work, spending countless hours transforming their classrooms into a warm and welcoming environment. We had some very fruitful collaboration and professional development as a staff this past week. St. Joseph is blessed to have a talented and passionate group of educators, eager to share the gifts of Christ with the school community. I am very much looking forward to meeting all of our students and parents this week.

Have a blessed weekend,

Principal Gaumont

SPORTS NEWS:

  • Sign-ups are on the first day of school. Mrs. Martineau will meet all athletes on that day.

  • All students should come to school on the first day with a current physical if one has not yet been provided.

  • All pay-to-play fees will be taken from your Facts accounts.

  • All Fall sports begin on August 31st.

  • Cross-country runners must be picked up promptly at 4:00 pm. Parents, in order to keep traffic out of the ASP play area, please park in the St. Anthony church parking lot and your students will walk over to you. The coach will ensure all students make it to their cars.

  • Soccer players must be picked up at Precourt Park (behind Wendy’s on S. Willow St.) promptly at 4:30 pm. The school must have the sports emergency form before an athlete can be a part of any team. This form is part of the packet of forms going home on the first day.

ATTENDANCE

To report your student absent or tardy, please use this attendance form that can be found on our website under the tab “forms”. In order for the absence or tardy to be excused, this form needs to be filled out each time your student is absent.

Homework help/ASP

Homework help is available at school starting on Sept 6th. Homework help is free of charge and will run weekly Monday-Thursday from 2:20pm -3:15pm. To better assist you, we have decided to move the dismissal spot for homework help. Homework help students will now be dismissed from the STJ main entrance on Somerville St. promptly at 3:15pm. If you feel there may be days that you cannot arrive promptly at 3:15, please fill out the attached ASP registration form so your student may attend the CLA aftercare program.

After care is available for St. Joseph students needing a later pickup, such as after a sports practice/homework help. Cardinal Lacroix Academy hosts this program. After care is available Monday-Friday from 2:20pm-5:30pm and costs $18.00. The aftercare program requires an advance sign up. You will need to fill out the attached forms and return them to the CLA office at office@clanh.org if you wish to use this service. Please communicate your child’s dismissal plan with the STJ school office so we can ensure your student is headed to the correct place after school.

LUNCH AND SNACK

Students will have snack time daily before lunch and should bring a healthy snack from home. Each student is expected to bring a water bottle to fill throughout the day.

Hot lunch is pre-ordered monthly online through the FACTS Family Portal. Orders must be placed during the ordering window, which is announced in the weekly newsletters and on the Facebook parent page.
