Highlights at Garden City High School
Some specific programs and supports that continue to encourage social-emotional health and wellness are:
-Social-Emotional Learning workshops with School Social Worker, School Psychologists and School Counselors
-Guidance grade-level group and individual meetings
-Active Parenting workshops
-Learning to Breathe mindfulness program in select Special Classes
-Peer Educator monthly videos and projects (can be found on our High School webpage under "students" and then "Peer Educators")
-Strength and Conditioning program in the Fall
-Senior Spotlights celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2021
-College reps virtual visits and admitted students' activities/sessions
-Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) fall and spring videos and projects
-Fundraisers led by the Class of 2021 and other clubs/organizations
-The Miracle Club community service and charity events
-Students Helping Students community service and charity events
-One School, One Book
-The Latin Club's Saturnalia celebration
-Math Team competitions
-Intramural Quiz Bowl competitions
-Spirit week
-PTA Speakers on mental health and wellness (March 11)
