"Why The University of Texas at Austin should accept me"

Volunteer Work

I have been doing volunteer work since I was about ten years old. Every year, I bake cakes for my local church bazaar. When I was in eighth grade, I was a member of NJHS, or National Junior Honor Society. I had to complete twenty volunteer hours. I participated in different activities in my school and in my community to complete the twenty hours. I made holiday cards for prisoners through my church, volunteered at school events, helped teachers at my school and much more.

To me, family is the most important thing. I am very close to my immediate family and even my extended family. My family supports me, encourages me and will always be there for me. I can't think of one thing that they wouldn't do for me.

One really interesting thing about my family is the fact that on my dad's side, we have a Ranch. It is more like a Lakehouse because we don't have cattle or horses, but we still call it a Ranch. It is located on Lake Limestone or in Limestone County. My Ranch has given me the opportunity to become even closer with my family.

What makes me UNIQUE

I do have a few things that separate me from others. One thing is that I have had my boater's license since I was thirteen. This means that I can drive boats and other water vehicles by myself. The water, whether its a lake, ocean or river, has always been a big part of my life. As mentioned in the family section, we have a Ranch. I have been going up there for as long as I can remember. At my Ranch, I have learned many important things. I have learned how to drive various vehicles, four-wheelers, cars, boats and wave-runners included. My Ranch has taught me many important lessons and has made me more responsible, trustworthy and independent.

Another thing that makes me stand out, is that I have always gotten "A" averages. Ever since I was in elementary school, I have always gotten A's. It is something I am very proud of and work very hard for.

History and Why I Want to go to U.T. Austin

I have had many family members go to U.T. Austin. In my immediate family, my father and brother both went. I have always dreamt of going to U.T. Austin and attending the McCombs School of Business, just like my father did. It is a top business school in the country and I think it would help me with owning a small business in the future.

Why I think U.T. Would be a GREAT School for me

Personally, I find Austin to be a fun and interesting city. I think there are so many places to explore and things to do. While I am in college, I want an adventure. I want to meet new people and try new activities. At the same time, I want to focus on my education. That is why I think U.T. would be a good fit. It has the perfect balance of an exciting city and a great education. I will learn so many things if I am accepted to U.T. Austin.
