National School Counselor's Week
STAAR Field Test 2/15
Dear Parents/Guardians,
TEA has selected DVISD as a STAAR Online Field Testing district. Students in bilingual classes in grades 3, 4 and 5 and students in english classes in 4th grade will take the a STAAR Field Test on February 15. We need your assistance with a few important things.
The teachers at Collins appreciate all you do to help your child succeed academically! Feel free to contact your child’s teacher with additional questions about test day.
Art Update
FEBRUARY ART UPDATE
Collins artists have been working well to create original art. Students are creating with clay this week! Creating with clay is a long process that requires it to dry for 2 weeks and then they can be fired in the kiln at almost 2000 degrees. Ask your child about their project. We have made medallions, pinch pots, animals, monsters, masks and food! Also, congratulations to our very own Brianna M. in 5th grade. She will have her flower painting displayed at the Texas Capitol next month as a part of Texas’ Youth Art Month celebration.

Dismissal
Thank you to all our parents for adjusting to our new dismissal line up for car riders. We appreciate you lining up along Apogee Road as Finnial Road and Moonbeam Road (behind the school) remain closed.
Please make sure you have your student's car tag displayed in your dashboard at pickup. If you need an additional car tag, please visit our front office and present your ID to be issued a new one.
- If you are going to change how your child goes home, please communicate this with the front office by 2:00PM
- If you are going to pick your child up from school before dismissal, please pick them up no later than 2:30PM. To ensure the safety of our students and that everyone gets home, we will not pull students from classrooms after 2:30PM.
- Parents are prohibited from pulling a student off the bus at dismissal.
- Students will be released during the school day only to persons listed in Skyward.
