The Grace & Art
Wylie High School's Art students had the opportunity once again this year to participate in Youth Art Month (YAM) that is hosted annually at the Grace Museum. Our Bulldogs represented us well with over 45 pieces of artwork! Due to Covid-19, we did not get to have our usual art reception on opening night but instead did a Facebook Live event. If you go to the Grace Museums Facebook page you are able to watch that event anytime! Additionally the Grace is open Saturdays for you to go view the wonderful work from our students as well as surrounding area schools. We are SO PROUD of all our students who have work hanging in the Grace. It is a nationally accredited museum and a great honor! Way to go Bulldogs!!
Art students recently entered into the Community Foundation of Abilene's T-Shirt design contest. WHS Art students made 4 of the 5 finalists. Go to Community Foundation of Abilene's Facebook page to VOTE for your favorite!
This week is VASE week! Visual Arts Scholastic Event- Arts big competition. We have over 30 works to be judged this coming Saturday and cannot wait to share how our students did after Spring Break!

Have you caught someone being a Bulldog?
Have you caught a student or a WHS staff member "Being a Bulldog"? We want to hear about it!
What is being a Bulldog? The American Kennel Club describes a Bulldog as kind but courageous, full of tenacity, friendly, and loyal companions. It is fitting that we are the Wylie Bulldogs because those are the qualities we strive for our campus to exude.
We believe that it is important to recognize those that are examples of kindness, friendliness, loyalty, and courage. Students and staff members can be nominated by students, staff, and community members. It is the hope of WHS that Bulldogs will inspire other Bulldogs to continue to show these characteristics. Nominate someone here!
