Technological were speeding up the process and merchants started to build a large textile mills, or factories, near rivers and streams. Lowell Massachusetts one of the biggest textile mills was made and a new system of work was introduced. Lowell Massachusetts system hired young, unmarried women from local farms.
Conditions In The Facturies
The factories gave work to young women. Lowell Massachusetts built boarding houses for the women. Women residents were given a room and meals along with their jobs
Improvement In Transportation
Machines and predetermined task, producing items to be shipped and sold elsewhere. They were paid six dollars and sixteenth cents paid $4.68 for board. One girl fell down and broke her neck
