May 29, 2020
Good Evening Lakeside Families,
It’s hard to believe that today is the last day of the 2019-2020 school year. Congratulations to the Lakeside students, staff, and parents for demonstrating resilience and compassion; we all should be proud of how we worked together to make the best of an unprecedented situation. Despite the unusual ending to the school year, we thank you all for your commitment and hard work.
Please remember that all schools will be distributing student's personal items, including end of year reports cards, and collecting textbooks and library books via a drive-through service the first week of June. If you have personal items at your child's school you want to retrieve, please complete this survey at (bit.ly/endofyearpickup) to assist us. Our Lakeside staff will be packing up these items over the next few weeks to prepare for distribution the first week of June starting with Wednesday, June 3rd from 12-6 pm with last names A-M, Thursday, June 4th from 12-6 pm with last names N-Z, and Friday, June 5th, 9 am-12 pm as our make up day.
Early in June, we will be mailing grade level summer learning packets to all students in grades K-8. These packets will focus on essential math and reading skills as well as social-emotional skills. Students will receive an incentive for completing their packet upon returning it to school in the Fall.
Our current food outreach program will remain the same for the month of June. Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 AM - 1 PM, and Wednesday from 5:30 - 7:00. Visit our website for locations.
The Lakeside staff thought it would be a great idea to have another parade, as an end-of-the-year celebration since we can't wave to them as the busses drive away as we traditionally do on the last day of school. The parade will be on Monday, June 1st. We will start the parade at 2 pm. I look forward to seeing all of you and celebrating our Lakeside Pride!!!!
Please stay connected by visiting our website, downloading our mobile app, viewing our district social media twitter and Facebook accounts for updated information.
Have a great summer break and thank you for your continued support!

A Message from Dr. Hanson
This is Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township. I think we all can agree that the ending of the 2019-20 school year is not what any of us expected or wanted. I am grateful to each and every student, parent, and caregiver and Warren employees for their resiliency, compassion, support for one another, and for our 11,600 students.
We are working on a variety of scenarios for the 2020-21 school year, with safety for our students and staff as the priority focus in every situation. I have assembled a Re-Entry Task Force to work closely with the Marion County Health Department, the Indiana Department of Education, and following guidance from Governor Holcomb to ensure that the plan we put in place provides the safest environment for students and staff. Our current planning includes a hybrid approach of both in-person and online learning for all K-12 students. It is my goal to share this final plan by the end of June.
As we plan for next year, registration will be a critical process for us. If you are currently enrolled in a Warren school, your information will be transferred to the next grade level and you do not need to re-register. For new families, we are currently accepting registrations for all grades for the 2020-2021 school year. Online registration details can be found on our website by selecting Registration under the Explore tab. Additionally, we will also be offering centralized on-site registration and for families to update their information at select locations from 9 am - 5 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer as outlined below:
Tuesday, June 16 - Warren Central High School
Thursday, June 18 - Stonybrook Intermediate/Middle School
Tuesday, June 23 - Warren Central High School
Thursday, June 25 - Liberty Park Elementary
Tuesday, July 7 - Warren Central High School
Thursday, July 9 - Stonybrook Intermediate/Middle School
Tuesday, July 14 - Warren Central High School
Thursday, July 16 - Liberty Park Elementary School
Students of any grade level or school can be registered for the 20-21 school year at these locations. You can contact our hotline at 317-608-0545 or msdwarrenelearning@warren.k12.in.us with online registration needs.
We are proud to announce that we will be partnering with the Marion County Health Department to provide drive-thru COVID-19 testing for our community. The testing site will be accessible on the southside of the high school campus off of 16th street. Testing will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6 AM - 2 PM. Testing is free and registration is required. You can register onsite or online at MarionHealth.org/INDYCOVID.
Our current food outreach program will remain the same for the month of June. Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 AM - 1 PM, and Wednesday from 5:30 - 7:00. Visit our website for locations.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
