Photographers use their technical expertise, creativity, and composition skills to produce and preserve images that visually tell a story or record an event.
Why you chose this career:
I think it is a good pay, and cameras, I am good at. Can figure one out in a couple of minutes, and I can fix them too. I just want to take pictures, because it is fun and I love taking pictures.
Experience/Skills needed:
Employers usually seek applicants with a “good eye” and creativity, as well as a good technical understanding of photography.
Education Needed to Obtain This Career:
Post secondary education is not required for portrait photographers. Photojournalists and industrial and scientific photographers often need a bachelor’s degree.
What branch of science most of this career falls under and why:
Cameras, of course, are used as tools in virtually all branches of science, and their development would pull information from many different fields.In many senses, photography would be a field of its own. Physics deals with light and optics. Chemistry deals with photographic development and chemicals. Computer Science would be related to digital photography (although the hardware is still built on basic chemistry and physics principles).
Something you found interesting about the career:
You can take pictures of anything. And you can edit the photos to make them brighter, or focus more.
