Brahma Briefing
Brahma Weekly Updates
Week 31: March 30 - April 3, 2020
Hello Brahmas,
Welcome to Week 31 of the second semester.
Our Superintendent, Dr. Taylor, frames our school closure in three (3) phases. The circumstances which created our first phase came as a surprise to us all. Phase one of school closure began Monday, March 16 and ends on Thursday, April 9, 2020. During this phase, all assignments and grading are on pause. We provided valuable enrichment and review activities for all students. We understand this is difficult, and we are looking forward to entering Phase 2 on April 20. During Phase 2, we will be implementing our Walnut Valley Unified School District's Distance Learning program. During this phase, weekly assignments and activities will be structured and organized for all students. Phase 2 ends on May 5, and we hope to return to school on Wednesday, May 6.
If we are not able to return to school on May 6, Phase 3 will involve the process for the end of the second semester. We hope this does not happen, but we will be prepared if that is the case.

A Message from our Class of 2020 President, Chris Lin!
Senior Class President Message - March 30, 2020
This is Chris Lin, your class of 2020 president, here to remind you all that although second semester isn’t going as planned, stay optimistic. Being torn about quarantine, canceled vacations, and using copy paper because I ran out of toilet paper, doesn’t change anything. However, after becoming optimistic and finding love in the small things, it made copy paper seem, OK.
In addition, I have now been non-sleep deprived for five days, and frankly, I’m a different man. To conclude, keep your head up, mask on, remember to wash your hands, and that we are all in this together. Do not let this pandemic cloud your accomplishments prior!
Take pride in your wins because we will celebrate them in the days to come.
I miss everybody sincerely and hope to see you all one more time before we go our own ways.

Walnut Valley Water District Poster Art Contest!
Reminder, though our school is currently closed, students can still participate in the Student Poster Art Contest and High School Broadcast Media & Digital Art Contest. One main change is that all entries must be mailed to the Water District Office at 271 S. Brea Canyon Rd., Walnut CA 91789. Contest deadlines will be postponed until all schools are back in session to give time for the entries to be mailed.
