If you find the common core math difficult, please use the link below to receive some parent help on the math we are currently doing in class.


Please remember it is to be returned daily with your parent signature acknowledging that your child has completed their 30 minutes of reading and assignments for that night. It is important to return every day so that you know of their daily behavior. 2 hours of reading, 2 Achieve 3000 articles and math review are the weekly requirements. If needed, your child may double up a night on reading or Achieve 3000 but please DO NOT go ahead on Math as we are learning new concepts each day. Thank you for your support.

Mission Project

Thank you for those who have inquired about how you many contribute to our class. If you would like to donate items to our classroom it would be greatly appreciated! With flu season upon us, here is what we need:

*hand sanitizer

*baby wipes


*new or slightly used grade appropriate books for classroom library

*prizes for prize box (please no food/candy)


Math: Multiplying, adding, and subtracting to solve multi-step word problems and solving division word problems with remainders using the area model/array model.

Reading:.Reading informational texts and finding key ideas and details.

Writing: Writing an opinion blog.

Social Studies: Early California exploration and early settlements

Science: Energy and matter in ecosystems, how ecosystems can be conserved


Ident-A-Kid will be here on Wednesday. Please look for the application in the homework folder on Monday. Envelopes need to be filled out and returned by Wednesday, November 12th to participate.

Annual Food & Toy Drive

Chula Vista Welfare Council has begun collecting for the canned food drive for local families in need. Food must be collected by Nov. 21st so that food and toys will be delivered to families on Dec. 13th. Your participation and generosity is greatly appreciated!
