FAQ:
What is a color run?
-In a color run volunteers throw color powder at the runners as they run by. Runners start out wearing white T-shirts and by the end of the run they are covered in color. The color powder is completely safe and can be washed out of clothes if desired. Check out this Color Run Example!!:: shorturl.at/uDU49
Where does the run take place?
-The color run will be on Parkway property for the entirety of the 5k and 1 mile run. The 5k will start at the North Lot by the Gym and finish at the stadium behind the school. The 1 mile fun run will start in the South Lot (closest to Hanna Rd) and end at the stadium as well. Participants will run on both asphalt and grass surfaces.
What should runners bring?
-Runners should bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing & shoes. Each runner will be provided with a color run t-shirt that is optional to wear. We recommend wearing a white shirt if you do not want to wear the color run shirt in order to best see the color powder. Clothing care instructions for either maintaining the color OR washing it out will be provided at Check-In
What time should runners arrive?
-Check in will start at 9:30 am in the North Lot for the 5k OR 10:00 am in the South Lot for the
1 mile fun run. The 5k will start promptly at 10am and the 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 10:30am. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the race time so age groups can be organized.
Where should participants park?
-Parking is available in both the North and South Lots. We recommend parking where your check in takes place (North Lot for 5k and South Lot for the 1 Mile fun run). The North Lots will close at 10am and the South lot will close at 10:30am. Parking is prohibited in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Second Grade Music Program!
Parents/Guardians,
I am so excited to share with you that we will be having a second grade music program on Thursday, April 21. At this point we are planning on having the program in person. If anything changes, I will let you know as soon as possible. In order to limit the amount of people we have in the gym, we are asking that the audience be parents/guardians and siblings only. The program will start at 6p.m. with doors opening 15 minutes prior to the performance. I will record our daytime practice so that I can share the performance with families who may not feel comfortable attending an in person performance yet or who cannot attend but would still like to watch. The program is called Squirm. I ask that classes wear black shirts (a t shirt is fine) and jeans for the performance. If you have any questions, you can email me at rcarroll@parkwayschools.net. I look forward to bringing music programs back to Carman Trails!
Musically,
Mrs. Rebecca Carroll

CARMAN COUGAR SPOTLIGHT - CHARACTER RECOGNITION
Character Shout Out - KINDNESS AND RESPONSIBILITY
Ben McMahan, James Kettler, and Greyson Hardy get a Character Shout Out for the care and help they showed a fellow student during Let Me Run practice. When witnessing a fellow runner struggling, these classmates offered him breathing techniques, calming strategies, and pats on the back. After checking in with teacher coaches and with this peer encouragement, the runner was back "on track"! Way to go, boys!
In addition, this week we are happy to spotlight some of our former and present Carman students! These students wrote a play titled "Alex Holmes", casted the play, and also created the set for the play which took place on February 28th! Photos of the students are shown below. Congratulations to our amazing students!
Come be a part of our character recognition efforts! Whenever you see a student (or staff member) demonstrating character outside of school, you can nominate them using this Google Form - linked here: https://forms.gle/rtmmbkxByyZBRDR17
Nominees will be randomly selected and spotlighted in future Paw Prints and possibly other school communications. By submitting a photo (by choice, not required), you are granting permission for us to use the photo in school-related communications.
Thank you for your help in recognizing and spotlighting character in our students!
